Sandy’s Sassy Sausage Bread

  • Italian Sausage, removed from casing, cooking, crumbled 1 pound
  • Large Yellow Onion, thinly sliced 6
  • Mozzarella, shredded 8 oz.
  • Frozen spinach, defrosted and drained 10 oz.

Sausage bread. Sausage onion, spinach and mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Purchase or make bread or pizza dough.
In a skillet brown 1 pound Italian sausage removed from casing and crumbled.
After browned remove sausage from pan leaving drippings and add 6 sliced onions, brown until translucent.
In a large bowl put sausage and onions (cool slightly) add drained, chopped, thawed spinach and shredded mozzarella mix well.
Roll out dough to twice the length of a jelly roll pan. Lay dough on pan. Place mixture on dough and fold dough over mixture and pinch sides to make a loaf.
Optional: Brush with egg and water mixture.
