Pineapple Carpaccio

Ginger-Vanilla Syrup

  • 5 ingredients


  • water 2 cups
  • sugar 2 1/2cups
  • ginger, grated, fresh 1/2 cup
  • lemon (zest and juice of a med lemon) 1
  • Vanilla bean 1 TBSP (1 pod)

this syrup is great with pineapple or pork.

  1. In a medium sized pot, mix in all ingredients
  2. stirring as it reduces to a simple syrup.
  3. the syrup is done, if you reduce have the syrup by half it’s volume and it has thickened.
  4. this process should only take about 1/2 – 45 minutes on a medium heat.
